An Essential Capability, Rebuilt in America

Restoring American

Container Manufacturing

ISO shipping containers are fundamental to defense, government, emergency response, infrastructure, advanced technology, and commercial logistics.

For decades, however, the United States has relied overwhelmingly on containers manufactured overseas. This has left government agencies and American industry with limited domestic options for an essential part of the physical supply chain.

CakeBoxx is leading the effort to change that.

We have established a U.S. manufacturing capability for standard ISO shipping containers using American materials, American labor, and a documented domestic supplier network.

Fabrication, welding, machining, coating, assembly, inspection, and quality verification are performed in the United States.

This is not a concept or demonstration effort.

Completed Production Units

20-foot Production Units, Built and Certified

CakeBoxx has completed production units of its American-made standard 20-foot ISO shipping container: plywood floor, ABS-certified, produced start to finish through our U.S. supply chain.

Currently on display in Chantilly, Virginia. Government representatives, procurement teams, and industry partners can arrange to inspect the units directly.

Built From the Ground Up

An American Supply Chain, Start to Finish

Domestic manufacturing means more than final assembly on U.S. soil. CakeBoxx built the supplier network, processes, and traceability to back it up:

  • U.S.-melted and poured structural steel
  • U.S.-made components, fabricated and welded domestically
  • Domestic coating, assembly, and inspection
  • Documented material and supplier origin
  • Domestic logistics and manufacturing partners

Even the corner castings are American-made. CakeBoxx has developed U.S.-manufactured, ISO 1161:2016 corner castings, Tier 2 ABS Product Design Assessed, closing a gap that industry still sources overseas.

Documented for Procurement Confidence

Built to Qualify. Documented to Prove It.

CakeBoxx’s American-made standard ISO containers are designed and documented to qualify as domestic end products under applicable Buy American Act requirements.

  • Material test reports and melt-and-pour records
  • Heat-number and supplier-origin traceability
  • Certificates of origin and bills of material
  • Full Buy American Act compliance documentation

Serving the Mission

Who This Capability Supports

Our Ethos

Hard Tech, Built Around the Mission

CakeBoxx Technologies was founded on its patented two-piece CakeBoxx® container. Since then, we’ve grown into an engineering design house that starts with the mission, not just the cargo. Specialized containers, transport platforms, deployable infrastructure, and Systems Within Systems™ solutions, among others, are what’s grown out of that approach, and when a mission needs something new, we engineer that too.

We build hard tech for high-consequence missions, and this new American-made capability is the clearest expression of that principle yet: the same engineering and manufacturing discipline CakeBoxx has always applied, now extended to a product government and industry have struggled to source domestically for decades.
